That's indeed the issue. If you use a Static Front Page, it should be set under Settings > Reading in your dashboard. Otherwise, the Mobile Theme will try to display a list of your most recent blog posts.
If your theme doesn't allow you to use the default WordPress Reading settings, I'm afraid you won't be able to use both your desktop theme and Jetpack's Mobile Theme.
